1939 Acme Newspictures 7 x 9 original Type I photo featuring New York Yankee legend Lou Gehrig batting during Spring Training in Florida. Who knew then that the "Iron Horse" Gehrig would soon retire just eight games into the 1939 regular season. Strong photographic image. Small crease at the lower left side. Back has Acme stamping. "Lou Gehrig (1939)" written in pencil at top left corner. Original captioning missing. Great piece from the end of an icon's career.
