This is an incredible pair of shoes from Hakeem Olajuwon, the Basketball Hall of Famer who is considered one of the greatest centers ever to play the game. In 1993–94, he became the only player in NBA history to win the NBA MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, and Finals MVP awards in the same season. In 1996, Olajuwon was a member of the Olympic gold-medal-winning United States national team, and was selected as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. He ended his career as the league's all-time leader in blocks, with 3,830. The Lite Gear shoes are in superb condition, from the ornate rubber design components and trim to the raised "Lite Gear" plastic-and-rubber logo above the back heels or the intricate embroidered "The Dream" on each heel. The shoes show good game use but remain in remarkably pristine condition, with all elements intact and largely as-issued. Olajuwon has added black Sharpie autographs to the heel on the left shoe and across the right panel on the other, adding his No. 34 to both. The use of the later spelling of his first name dates the shoes likely after 1991 when, as a devout Muslim, he began using what he described as the proper spelling of his name with an "H." This is simply a great item from one of the key figures in the NBA at the close of the 20th century. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Olajuwon's business manager.
