Five wonderful souvenir programs and magazines touch on multiple eras of the Minneapolis/Los Angeles Lakers, headlined by an oversized (9-by-12 inches) Minneapolis Lakers World Champions of Professional Basketball pictorial album from 1948-50. Marvelous team photos from all three seasons, plus great photos of the likes of George Mikan, Vern Mikkelsen, James Pollard, Slater Martin and Bud Grant (yeah, that one). The piece presents in Ex-Mt condition and is simply a super piece of Lakers memorabilia. The rest of the lineup (all 8 1/2-by-11-inch) includes two 60-page issues of the Minneapolis Lakers News from 1952, featuring Al Papas cartoon artwork on the cover(s) (one with red spot color, the other blue). Both appear to be in about Excellent condition. The fourth piece is a Syracuse Nationals vs. Lakers game program from Jan. 6, 1955, presenting Ex-Mt but scored in pencil inside (Minneapolis prevailed, 117-106, despite 40 points from Dolph Schayes). Final piece is a Milwaukee Buck vs. Los Angeles Lakers 28-page score card from the 1971 NBA Playoffs, with Kareem Abdul Jabbar (still Lew Alcindor here) on the cover and super pictures of Alcindor and Chamberlain (full page), Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor, Jerry West, et.al. Cool piece presents Excellent but would probably warrant a lower grade from a visible but hardly disastrous crease on the cover.
