From back in the middle of the Great Depression comes yet another intriguing prep basketball trophy, in this instance a 14-inch high homage to the Brownstone A.C., Lancaster County Champions 1934-35. The base and background of this charming piece are made of wood, with silver-finished metal figurals, backboard and net and nameplate components affixed. Two basketball players approximately 6 inches high tangle beneath an intricate basketball with ornate backboard and supporting pillars. A 7 1/2-by-2-inch nameplate provides engraved details of their winning efforts, along with the names of the team members and the appreciation nod from the "Citizens of the Community." The entire piece remains in superior, largely unblemished condition, revealing only the expected tarnishing that you might incur on a silver-like finished metal after more than 75 years and some barely perceptible chipping of the wood base at the edges.
