The inventory of fan-inspired awards conjured up to honor the legendary John Havlicek is about as prodigious as has vast array of NBA records amassed over his career. This one came courtesy of "The Nation's NBA Fan Clubs" and was awarded to Havlicek in the latter stage of his career. Beneath an ornate figural of a basketball in a hoop, a 5-inch square nameplate proclaims in etched letters: "John Havlicek, 'Mr. Basketball,' Selected by the Nation's Cage Fans as the ultimate performer in the Magical Art of Showmanship and Ability." Havlicek signed his magnificent signature in bold, black Sharpie beneath the hoop figural. And it is dated 2-13-73. The nameplate and figural are mounted on an attractive 9-by-12-inch wood board with accented woodworking highlights. All elements appear to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek.
