If you ever wondered what it would be like to collect your own baseball cards, this is the lot for you. Steve Garvey's personal collection of Steve Garvey cards (estimated at 5,000 plus cards), and it's absolutely intriguing to see so many of the same cards in basically uniform Nr-Mt condition or better (earliest years - 1972-74 - probably more cautiously described as Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt). The grouping includes on average 100 or so cards for each Topps year from 1976-87, and about 65 or so from 1973 and a dozen from 1972. Jostling the average a bit are the nearly 500 cards from 1979 Topps. Same general rule applies for Fleer and Donruss, with most years averaging about 100 per, and twice that number in the frequent years when two cards were issued each year. Toss in perhaps 500-600 more, many nearly 100-count bricks from manufacturers like K-Mart, Drakes and the various Fleer boxed issues, plus Dodgers Police sets, stickers and others, and you have an amazing array of cardboard from one of the great stars of the National League in the 1970's and 1980's. If you had a calculator and a lot of time on your hands, you could come up with a pretty close approximation of the book value. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Steve Garvey.
