Very desirable card of Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson from the extremely condition conscious 1909 T204 Ramly Cigarettes issue, a tough to complete set very popular among collectors with a beautiful gold embossed frame surrounding a portrait photo of the player. The T204 Ramly is considered Johnson's Rookie card making him the key card in the set. The offered example has a clear in focus black and white actual photo image of the Washington Senator Hall of Fame hurler. Some of the ornate gold border is still in tact. Corners are about Fair. Front still somewhat clean with the back having some staining and soiling. Centering about 55/45 top to bottom and 60/40 side to side. Main problem with the card is the very heavy creasing, mainly along the edges outside of the picture image. There are 3 major creases to the picture image, one a vertical crease that runs the length of the card and hits Johnson's left eye, another that runs somewhat diagonally from the top and hits the outside of his left eye with the third a diagonal crease that cuts across his uniform. A small nick is missing from the lower right edge. Key card to the 1909 T204 Ramly tobacco issue.

SMR value $2,250.
