Beautiful 2009 Big Bat/Frank Slocum Award given to Bret Saberhagen by the Baseball Assistance League. The Baseball Assistance Team was founded in 1986 as a way for Major League Baseball and its players to take care of former players who have fallen upon hard times. The Frank Slocum Big Bat Award, named for the first director of the Baseball Assistance Team, is given to “an individual or a group of individuals whose exemplary service to the B.A.T. organization has helped provide dignity and self-esteem to members of the Baseball Family." Saberhagen has signed on the back of the base in perfect 9-10/10 silver felt tip pen. Crossed bat trophy measures 4" by 8" at the base and is about 14 1/2" tall.
