By his exceptional aptitude on the field (and his whimsical bearing in the eyes of admirers), Yogi Berra seemed the ideal choice to plug Yoo-Hoo – the chocolate potable which was popular in New York. The endorsement was aggressively publicized by the bottler, and offered now is one of their most elaborate and scarcest renderings from that advertising campaign. Seen here relaxing in the tranquil setting of his clubhouse locker, Yogi pauses to savor the refreshment. The pose is very similar to his 1959 Yoo-Hoo card and most certainly was taken at the same session. The colorful image is embellished by a three-dimensional simulated frame (fashioned in folded cardboard). The "frame," 20-1/2" x 26", is very mildly misshapen (still EX, and one of the finest of the few examples known, with most missing the frame) while the image area is Near Mint (qualified only by a few instances of very light staining and a 5/8" by 1/8" slot at top as issued for displaying).
