For hardcore boxing fans, it's hard to imagine a more compelling artifact that these two vintage autograph books crammed full with signatures and ephemera from multiple generations of boxing greats. all told there are 127 signatures in the two 6-by-4 3/4-inch albums, with many including pasted newspaper photographs or brief articles alongside, many with inscriptions added that range from a simple "Best Wishes" or inclusion of an intriguing nickname or boxing title held to more elaborate salutations and even the occasional bit of poetry. The signatures are found in graphite pencil and steel-tip fountain pen, with notables including Jack Johnson, Joe Louis, Kid Louis Kaplan, Al McCoy, Ray Arcel and Boom Boom Mancini, to name a few. The albums are roughly 100 pages each (front and back), with multi-colored pastel pages; the first book, essentially filled, is in superior overall condition, with the second book showing considerable damage to the spine in an album that's roughly half filled. A superb boxing artifact that has to be seen and indeed examined at length to be truly appreciated. Full JSA LOA.
