Spectacular full color store display features Dizzy Dean and his brother Paul advertising for Lorillard’s Beech-Nut Tobacco. The illustrated display pictures the famous siblings standing side by side in their Cardinal uniforms, each with a hand outstretched holding a baseball. The backdrop consists of a large baseball glove with a package of Beech-Nut Tobacco in the pocket. “A Great Chew” is printed along the bottom in bold blue letters. The display has been professionally restored and refurbished, including a remounting to a heavier cardboard backing and the attachment of a wooden easel back which allows the piece to stand freely. The artistry employed in the restoration of this display is simply exquisite and the piece exhibits a near mint appearance. The depiction of baseball’s most popular brother tandem along with the vibrant colors and bold graphics combine to make this one of the most attractive advertising displays ever created. A magnificent 1930’s advertising piece, featuring two of the most prominent members of the St. Louis Cardinals fabled “Gas House Gang,” beautifully restored to all its former glory. This is a prize baseball display piece for even the most advanced collections. Approximately 31” by 42”.
