1955 Philadelphia Phillies grey flannel road jersey belonging to catcher Stan Lopata, a member of the 1950 "Whiz Kids" who spent 11 of his 13 big league seasons with the Phillies. Lopata had one of his better seasons in 1955, batting .271 and slugging 22 home runs in just 99 games. Wilson size 44 jersey has "Phillies" in red script across the chest and Lopata's number "29" in red on the back. Both letters and numbers are embroidered in red with white trim. "Lopata" stitched in collar. "1955" stitched directly below Wilson tag. Everything appears to be original. Jersey in very nice overall condition with a pair of small 3/4" and 1" tears at sides of 2nd button on top. (Both look to have had team repairs) Lopata has signed in 7-8/10 black sharpie on the left chest below the team name.
