The cream-colored flannel button-down garment showcases the unique vintage features of the Phillies' uniform style that was adopted in 1950: the burgundy chenille with white-edged embroidery cursive characters "Phillies" appears across the chest with stars to dot the "i"s. There is a wee bit of separation in the chenille stitching on the lettering on the front and a good deal more on Silvestri's enormous No. 25 on the back reveal minimal fraying of the stitching; the jersey shows considerable game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Within the collar, a felt tag is home to a chain-stitched notation of "Silvestri K. - 53" and the left front tail features a slightly faded "Wilson" Size "46" label, along with separate small white tag is quite frayed and faded enough to no longer reveal any printing. Overall, the jersey shows significant game use and is still highly presentable; there is quite a bit of wear and a small team repair around the collar, much of the shoulders show wear that threatens to work through the fabric and two buttons are missing from the shirt and a couple of small holes on the bottom of the back. Still, at 60, I should look so good.
