No less of a Yankee icon than the Great DiMaggio penned his signature to this handsome Official International League ball that he then presented to George Sisler Jr., son of the Hall of Famer and longtime general manager of the Columbus Clippers, at the time the top minor-league affiliate of the Yankees. The Official Internal League ball is in excellent condition, with virtually no yellowing and only a hint of scuffing on one panel; on the opposite panel, DiMaggio wrote in attractive black ballpoint: "To George Sisler Jr., Thanks for extending invitation. Keep 'em on top. Best Always. Joe DiMaggio." The ball in question has stamped imprinting from Harold H. Cooper, Pres., who held the top spot in the International League from 1978-90, so the DiMaggio allusion to "Keep 'em on top" is an obvious reference to Sisler's GM duties with the Clippers. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Sisler Family.
