This elegant Cartier sterling silver box was presented to George Sisler Jr., a longtime minor league executive and former president of the International League, as well as serving as general manager of the Columbus Clippers - the top Yankees affiliate for 28 years from 1979-2006. The 7 1/2-by-5-inch box features a pristine wood interior; a gold-painted sculpted Yankees cap, 6-inch bat and silver baseball are affixed to the top of the box, directly above engraving that reads: "To George Sisler Jr., In recognition of over 50 years of service to professional baseball, the New York Yankees, November 28, 1989." All elements are in superb, seemingly as-issued condition, with the box showing only the kind of tarnishing that you anticipate from sterling silver over the span of several decades. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Sisler Family.
