Carl Yastrzemski is an 18-time All-Star, the possessor of seven Gold Gloves and a member of the 3,000 hit club. He is the Red Sox' all-time leader in career RBIs, runs, hits, singles, doubles, total bases and games played. In 1967, Yastrzemski achieved a peak in his career, leading the Red Sox to the AL pennant for the first time in over two decades, in that season being voted the MVP and being the last winner of the Triple Crown Award. He was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “42”. On the left front tail is a white strip tag with “79” embroidered in navy blue chain stitch. Across the front is “RED SOX”. Player number “8” appears on back. All numbers and letters are done in red on navy blue tackle twill. The red trim on front adjacent to the “S” in “SOX” is fraying. The jersey shows excellent game-use with sweat staining in the collar and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
