Few players in the history of baseball have matched the accomplishments and consistency of Stan
“The Man” Musial. In 22 seasons, Musial knocked in 1,951 runs, good for fourth on the All-time
list behind Aaron, Ruth and Gehrig. Even fewer so engendered the admiration and affection of fans,
not only at home but in every ballpark on the circuit. For his very nickname, “Stan the Man” was
bestowed by Brooklyn fans who feared “that man” upon his arrival to Ebbets Field. As for his 22-year
tenure with the Redbirds, there’s no specific era during which he peaked. Rather, he was spectacular
throughout his Hall of Fame career. Here offered is a St. Louis Cardinals home jersey worn by the
Sportsman’s Park icon during the 1960 campaign. The definitive and timeless embroidered Cardinals
logo—complete with birds perched upon opposite ends of a bat—spans the chest. Musial’s famed
number “6” in red-on-blue felt adorns the back. The left front tails bears a “Rawlings Hall of Fame
Flannel” manufacturer’s label and a red chain-stitched notation -- “Musial – 60”. Within that same
tail, a wash tag is accompanied by a flag tag denoting “SET 1 - 1960.” Every element of the jersey
is completely original and unaltered. It exhibits optimal evidence of wear with no signs of repair.
Capping off the flawless aesthetics is a perfect “Stan Musial” blue sharpie autograph above the tail. A
simply ideal gamer from the recently deceased icon who holds an unparalleled legacy as the greatest
and most beloved player ever to don a Cardinals uniform.
