This is a batting helmet that bears witness to a significant moment in modern baseball history: a game-used jet-black Benito Santiago game-worn batting helmet, adorned with eye-catching silver Sharpie autographs of the players from that first-ever game as newly anointed members of the National League. This Size 7 1/4 Authentic Diamond Collection helmet shows good game use but is largely problem-free, with blazing gloss and no perceptible scratching on the crown or brim save only for some scuffing on the ear flap that doesn't detract from the presentation and is mostly obscured by an autograph. About 40 attractive silver Sharpie autographs - including team owner Wayne Huizenga, inaugural game starting pitcher Charlie Hough, Jeff Conine, Walt Weiss, et al. - grace the helmet, including a standout Santiago signature in the middle of the left side of the helmet, with most of the players adding an inscription with their uniform number as well. Comes with an LOA from Benito Santiago. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA
