Beautiful 34" by 11" by 9" Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Silver Slugger Award trophy given to San Diego Padre catcher Benito Santiago as a member of the 1990 Sporting News National League Offensive Team. Plaque honors Santiago as well as the other 8 position players selected. The National League Rookie of the Year for 1987, Santiago, playing in just 100 games, hit .270 with a .419 slugging percentage to go with his 11 HRs and 53 RBIs for 1990. Santiago has signed the trophy in 9/10 black felt tip pen on the back "Benito Santiago". Trophy in beautiful condition.
