In an artifact that would appear to be the epitome of early 20th century artistry and elegance, this spectacular gold pocket watch was originally presented to Baseball Hall of Famer George Sisler in 1916 and then given by Sisler to his son, George Sisler Jr., nearly 20 years later, with additional engraving added to the back. The E. Howard Watch Co. (Boston) pocket watch was presented to Sisler in 1916 and remains in remarkable condition nearly a century later. On the back of the face is an engraving that reads: "Presented to George H. Sisler by his Michigan Friends, May 5, 1916." The face of the watch seems largely absent any issues, save only for the tiniest, barely perceptiable dings along the edge, and barely revealing even modest surface wear from expected normal usage, and would appear to be in working order. The hinged back cover features attractive script engraving on both sides: on the outside is a calligraphy-style rendition of the initials "G.H.S." and on the inside "To George Jr." and the date of June 1935. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Sisler Family.
