This 15-inch high silver loving cup was awarded by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association to John Havlicek following his standout rookie season in 1962-63. The 4-inch-square nameplate states: "Hy Turkin Memorial Award, Pro Rookie of the Year 1962-63, John Havlicek, Boston Celtics, presented by Metropolitan Basketball Writers Assn." The loving cup sits atop a 6-inch square wooden base that is in remarkable, largely as-issued condition; the silver loving cup displays the expected silver tarnishing that you would typically find, and the nameplate reveal some tarnishing and two areas - one quite smaller, the other more significant - that reveal some chipping of the gold plating. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek.
