It wouldn't have been a surprise to anyone in Bridgeport, Ohio, to note John Havlicek's 1987 induction into the National High School Sports Hall of Fame. Before he wowed them in Columbus, Ohio, or in Boston, Havlicek was one of the most celebrated prep stars of his day, a three-sport star who probably could have turned pro in at least two of his chosen fields. The National High School Sports Hall of Fame in Kansas City presented this 7-by-9-inch acrylic plaque to Havlicek on July 2, 1987, as noted in a 4-by-1 1/2-inch metal plaque on the 7-by-5-inch wood base. Inside the black acrylic piece is the HOF's logos, their name and "Kansas City, Missouri. Havlicek has signed in silver Sharpie on the left side of the plaque, adding an "87" inscription for the induction day. All elements of the plaque, like the vast majority of the pieces in the Hall of Famer's personal collection, are in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek.
