The historically jaded and cynical boxing writers presented Angelo Dundee with this impressive sterling silver plaque to note his special contributions to the sport of boxing. The engraved sterling silver plaque is 7 1/2-by-10 inches, with ornate designed elements throughout, and the words: Boxing Writers' Association of America James J. Walker Memorial Award presented to Angelo Dundee for Meritorious Service to Boxing, April 4th, 1997 at the Crowne Plaza Manhattan. Affixed to a 10 1/2-by-12 1/2-inch beveled wood backboard, the piece is in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition.
