Simple elegance would seen to be the order of the day here: a 14K Gold Lifetime Pass awarded to the Celtics' great shooting guard Sam Jones upon the occasion of his retiring after the 1969 season and the Celtics' 10 NBA title in 12 years. The 4-by-2 1/4-inch pass has National Basketball Association across the top, with stacked engravings "Life Pass, Sam Jones, Player, 1957-69. The front and back of the pass are breathtaking in their utter goldness, with nary a smudge to be found and nothing on the back except for the tiniest cursive engravings in one corner of "14K" and "Cartier." Comes housed in the original 5 1/2-by-3 1/2-inch red, gold and satin (inside) Cartier box; pass and box appear to be in virtually as-issued and problem-free condition.
