In 1996, the NBA came up with one of the greatest promotional vehicles that any professional sport had ever undertaken, mimicking to a degree Major League Baseball's 1969 poll designating its 100 Greatest Players of All-time, but having a leg up for one major consideration. When the NBA selected its 50 Greatest Players, it had the enormous advantage that all but one was still alive. Thus the league produced a marvelous lithograph that was signed by the players and awarded each this spectacular ring, arguably one of the most significant awards that any NBA player could aspire to.

This Size 12 1/2 ring, made by Balfour, was presented to Sam Jones at the 1997 All-Star Game in Cleveland in a ceremony honoring the NBA's 50 Greatest Players. The 14k gold ring boldly states "NBA 50 Greatest Players," encircling a silver basketball with the "50" at the center. On one side are the dates "1946" and "1996" flanking the NBA logo, signifying the league's 50th Anniversary. The opposite side has Jones’ name bannered above the 50 Greatest logo and his number "24" below. As an NBA Hall of Famer and a key member of the greatest dynasty in the history of American professional sports, this Same Jones ring is amongst the most desirable basketball rings we’ve offered.

Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Sam Jones.
