Employed by local hero Pete Rose during his early big league days along the banks of the Ohio River, this 36 inch, 34.2 ounce Hillerich & Bradsby model S2 game used bat shows evidence of excellent game use. Hailing from the 1965-68 period according to factory records, its ideal usage traits include many ball marks and ball stitch marks visible on the right, left and backside of the barrel. Also, visible on the barrel are blue bat rack streaks and some checking (grain separation). There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the upper handle which has suffered a slight crack. Stamped into the knob is the model number (S2) and Pete's faded number (14) is written on the knob in black marker. Pete has boldly autographed the front of the barrel in blue sharpie and added the notation 'Hit King #4256'. Overall, this is a very impressive example of a Rose gamer from this early and most productive period of his playing career. Includes a LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Graded GU8.5).
