For many fans, he was the greatest player in baseball history, pictured here in civilian clothes not long after his retirement from the game as an active player. This oversized 10-by-13-inch sepia-toned image boasts a wonderful Ty Cobb autograph on the front-right section of the image, with the Hall of Famer adding a personalization "To Joe and Toni Laird, In Sincere Appreciation," and dated April 8 - 32. The photo is handsomely double-matted in grey and cream colors and then showcased in a burnished antique frame that seems to perfectly match the time period of the photograph and the signature. Brought to overall dimensions of 15-by-18 inches, the artifact is anointed additional historical heft with a provenance that traces it to the world-famous auction of the Barry Halper Collection at Sotheby's in New York City in 1999.
