From Ozzie's personal collection comes yet another award he received that was based largely on his contributions to the St. Louis area communities. The Missouri Athletic Club designated Ozzie as the 1992 Jack Buck Award, given in the name of the famed St. Louis broadcaster, which recognized him for "outstanding performance and achievement" .... "and appreciation for unselfish service to the community and dedication to the enhancement of the image of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area," or so says the handsome 5 1/2-by-8-inch black glass plate that is at the center of the plaque. Surrounded by an ornate sculptured brass piece, it is all set upon a wood oval of roughly 11-by-14 inches. The piece is in excellent condition, with only the slightest scratch barely visible on the main black glass plate and a couple of minor nicks on the wood base that don't impair the overall presentation.
