What is the ultimate prize for Major League Baseball players must similarly entice collectors: this is a miniature version of the iconic World Series Trophy awarded to the winner each fall, with the smaller versions given to the individual players. On a 7-inch in diameter black wood base, a circular gold band states: St. Louis Cardinals World Champions 1982 Osbourne E. Smith. Pennants from every major league team in ascending and then descending height (8 to 9 1/2 inches) encircle the base: inside a 5-inch diameter gold band has a baseball inside and a crown at its apex, along with mounted press pins from that year's World Series, Milwaukee and St. Louis. The spectacular trophy appears to be essentially as-issued and problem free, unless you're worried about MLB's misspelling of Ozzie's given name.
