It's hard to imagine a more stirring tribute to a life's work than to receive this stunning 22-lb., 26-inch bronze statue that honors both on-field accomplishments and contributions to the broader community as a role model and volunteer. Sculpted by internationally prominent artist George Lundeen, the young player with bat on shoulder is 22 inches of bronze standing atop what can only be described as a pedestal, 9 inches across and 6 inches deep. A metal plaque showcasing the Rotary logo states: The Branch Rickey Award, Presented to Ozzie Smith, January 25, 1995 - Major League Baseball's Outstanding Individual Who Personifies Rotary International's Motto 'Service Above Self,'" along with a smaller notation that the award was created by the Rotary Club of Denver. The entire piece is essentially as issued and problem free.
