The media plugged the 1985 World Series as the I-70 Series. The two major league teams of Missouri had won their respective pennants, and the main artery connecting St. Louis and Kansas City was, of course, that familiar Interstate 70. Here offered is the National League champions ring that was bestowed to Cardinals All-Star shortstop Ozzie Smith following the club's 1985 Senior Circuit title. A diamond studded "ST.L." emblem rests atop a red stone on the face. Raised lettering surrounding the glimmering presentation proclaims, "NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS." On one side, "1985 - Cardinals - 14th World Series" is featured in like fashion; the opposing shank shows the National League's logo flanked by "SMITH" and "St. Louis Cardinals." This item is accompanied by its original display box. "10K JOSTENS" is stamped inside the band. The ring remains in perfect original condition, as issued. Ring size 11.
LOA from Ozzie Smith.
