It's always intriguing to think of professional baseball players - especially elite, Hall of Fame caliber types - as collecting their own cards, but some do just that, as evidenced by this grouping of five dozen 1979 Topps Ozzie Smith rookie cards that came from Smith's personal collection. Of the 60 cards (all are protected in plastic sleeves - the range in condition is largely Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt, with perhaps only a handful of cards falling barely below that. Perhaps 40 or so of the cards have the kind of left-to-right centering issues that were so common to 1979 Topps in general and the Smith rookie in particular.
