This is a torch from the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, 23 inches in length with the "bowl" 5 inches in diameter and featuring the Olympic motto in Latin on the edge along with the five rings, and intricate engraving of the Los Angeles Coliseum encircling the bowl. A tan leather wrap covers the handle nearly to the end, save only for a brass fitting at the end with the LA Olympic logo; a second brass fitting three quarters of the way up the handle has an engraving that reads "Games of the XXIIIrd Olympiad Los Angeles 1984." I don't know about you, but I think being able to mix the English "rd" alongside the Roman Numerals XXXIII shows great linguistic flexibility. The torch shows evidence of having been aflame at least briefly; the piece is otherwise in Nr-Mt and problem-free condition.
