GD PSA 2(MK) Full Reserved Seat Pass ticket to the September 7, 1892 World Heavyweight Championship fight between legendary Champion John L. Sullivan and challenger "Gentleman Jim" Corbett held at the Olympic Club in New Orleans, Louisiana under electrically illuminated lights before 10,000 fans. The younger Corbett was much faster than Sullivan and used as more skilled boxing technique, in contrast to the Champion's crouch and rush style. In the 21st round Corbett landed a thunderous left that knocked the Champ to the canvas. He was counted out and Corbett named the new World's Heavyweight Champion. When Sullivan finally did get to his feet, he announced to the assembled crowd, "If I had to get licked I'm glad I was licked by an American." Ticket itself displays well from the front with the main reason for the grade being a vertical crease at right center. MK qualifier results from a name and address stamped on the back. Amazing piece of Boxing History! Just 2 tickets rated higher by PSA.
