Yankees back-up outfielder Jake Powell surrendered one of his Hanna Batrite gamers for a greater cause during the great Lou Gehrig's final complete season, passing it to the Iron Horse and eighteen other World Champion Yanks along with a black fountain pen. The signatures are mostly legible though faded to varying degrees, with PSA/DNA grading the signatures at 4/10. Easily discernable are Gehrig, Dickey, Gomez, Ruffing, Gordon, Chandler, Selkirk Sundra and others. A lengthy handle crack ended the service of this thirty-five ounce gamer, but the bat remains solid and well suited for display. Pre-war team signed bats are exceptionally rare, with this one representing an important season for the most storied team of the era. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (bat grade GU 7.5) and PSA/DNA (auto. grades: 4).
