This large (16” by 12”) piece of original art was created by renowned Boston Globe artist Phil Bissell, creator of the New England Patriots logo (Pat the Patriot). The circa 1954-55 piece shows Auerbach and Celtics players Bob Cousy, Don Barksdale and Jack Nichols conducting a basketball lesson in front of a crowded classroom. The piece shows minor age toning, appearing in about EX-MT condition in its original vintage frame (no glass). The piece is artist signed in the lower left corner. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
