Of the several cigar humidors in the Red Auerbach collection, this may have been the one he utilized the most. This presumption is based on the fact that it was kept on the top of his desk in his office in Boston. This can be seen in photographs featured in our printed auction catalogue (pgs. 60-61). The glass and cedar lined humidor has an engraved metal placard on the lid that reads, "'Red' Aurbach From CSA Humidor 1 Newport, R.I." The humidor shows a fair amount of usage wear including tobacco remnants on the interior causing one to wonder how many victory cigars were retrieved from it through the years by Red. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
