This phenomenal art deco style trophy measures 18" across and stands 17" high. It was given to Red Auerbach in recognition of his coaching the Eastern Conference team in the 1958 eighth annual NBA All-Star Game in St. Louis. A plaque on the base reads, “NBA East-West All-Star Game – St. Louis January 15, 1958 – Arnold Auerbach”. Auerbach guided the East team, which featured three of his own Celtics players among the starting five (Cousy, Russell and Sharman), to a 130-118 victory over the West. Bob Cousy was selected as the game's MVP. This fabulous heirloom from Auerbach's collection of career mementos is appealing not only for historical significance, but for its wonderful design and aesthetic quality. The trophy is well preserved in original EX-MT condition. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
