In 1988 Red Auerbach was feted by the prestigious Touchdown Club of Washington, D.C. and presented with that club's annual "Timmie" award for his lifetime achievement in the National Basketball Association. Red’s 1988 “Timmie” award is presented here in the form of a 17" trophy features a 10" youthful football figure ("Timmie") affixed along the top of a black wooden base. Mounted on the front of the base are two engraved plates. The larger reads "LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD IN THE NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION 1988," with the smaller one, located directly below, reading “RED AUERBACH." A photo of Red receiving the award accompanies which is signed by presenter George Henry to Red. An exceptional and unique individual achievement award presented to the great Red Auerbach in tribute to his prolific NBA career. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
