Red Auerbach's own glass candy dish commemorates Boston's 1968-69 World Championship. Three months after the Celtics 11th Championship season, player-coach Bill Russell officially announced his retirement. The Boston dynasty was over, at least the Russell edition of it. The Celtics had won 11 titles in 13 years, a string unmatched by any team in any major sport. Red's own 9" by 7" glass dish features the facsimile signatures of every player as well as Auerbach among its design elements. Iconic leprechaun decked out in Celtic green balances a basketball at center. NM-MT condition. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
