Outstanding single signed baseball of Ken Hubbs, the 1962 Chicago Cub National League Rookie of the Year who would die in a tragic plane crash just one short year later. Hubbs was just 19 when called up by the Cubs for a few games at the end of the 1961 season. The following year he would play 160 games and establish himself as one of the best young players in the National League while winning Rookie of the Year honors. Fate took a terrible turn and after the end of the 1963 season he was gone. Very strong dark blue ball point pen "To Tommy Best Wishes Ken Hubbs" adorns the side panel. Unused, very clean cream colored Wilson "Official Practice Ball". Beautiful condition signature of a very difficult and seldom seen autograph on a single signed baseball. Comes from the original owner, Tommy", who received the ball directly from Hubbs as a youngster. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
