Bob Gibson's 1968 Sporting News National League Pitcher of the Year Award, given to the St. Louis ace for his amazing 1968 season. Gibson led the NL with a minuscule 1.12 ERA, led in strikeouts with 268, led in shutouts with 13, gave up the fewest hits per 9 innings, won 22 games including 15 in a row, pitched 305 innings with 28 complete games, and added 2 more wins in the World Series. 12 1/2" by 15" award features a beautiful portrait of Gibson at center, with a plague celebrating his accomplishments ate the bottom and the Sporting News Award at the top. Black paint at three of the corners could use some paint touch up. A few other places will need a dad or two of paint also. The lower has been dinged also but the paint touch up should improve the aesthetics. At top and bottom right center the wood has split some. This too should be repairable. Incredible piece of baseball history from one of the most dominating seasons ever by a pitcher.
