Unique 7" by 17 1/2" "World's Champion Yankees" thick cardboard sign attributed to the 1937 Yankees post-championship celebratory parade. The sign, believed to have been hung from a car or float carrying Yankees players, is autographed by a combination of 22 Yankee players, executives, and others. Included are: Yankees players Dickey, DiMaggio, Gehrig, Gomez, Hoag, Lazzeri, Malone, McCarthy (manager), Rolfe, Saltzgaver, Selkirk, and Wicker. Also included are Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert and team President Ed Barrow. Other autographs include: Charles Stoneham (Giants team owner), William Harridge (A.L. President), Schreiber, Montague, Mulrooney and Bill Frawley (actor who played Fred Mertz on "I Love Lucy") as well as 2 unidentified. Most signatures are in black ink (a few in dark pencil) and the overall quality of most is 7-8/10. On each side of the piece famed sports cartoonist Tom Paprocki has drawn figures, at the right a smiling Yankee player and on the left a beat up, angry Giant. On the back, someone has written in pencil "Unfair to N. Y. Giants". The top center has a small written notation "Oct. 1937". The sign has corner wear all around plus several pin holes at edges. Piece still displays very well and will look great when framed. Incredibly unique piece of Yankees history. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.
