Stan Musial rejoined the St. Louis Cardinals from military service in 1946, picking up right where he left off. In the first year of post-war baseball, Stan led the National League in runs, hits, double, triples, slugging average and batting average while helping the Cardinals to an NL pennant in a playoff with the Dodgers and a World Series Championship against the Boston Red Sox. For his efforts, Musial was awarded his second NL MVP award. Following that effort Musial was featured in this full color advertisement for Chesterfield Cigarettes. The youthful Musial, in his Cardinals cap, is all smiles with his pack of Chesterfields in hand. Formerly part of the famed Barry Halper Collection, this large 22” x 21” heavy paper stock advertisement exhibits gorgeous color, with some faint creases and a few minor surface imperfections, giving a technical grade of VG-EX. Stan has added “To Barry Best Wishes Stan Musial” in blue sharpie (9/10). The piece is matted and framed to overall dimensions of 25" x 27". Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
