The traveling hoops circus known as the Harlem Globetrotters dribbled into the Toledo Sports Arena on March 11, 1959. Presented here is a broadside touting an appearance by the Wilt Chamberlain-led Globetrotters at the aforementioned venue. This loud, colorful 14" x 22" framed advertisement features the artwork of the famed Willard Mullin, the "Dean of Sports Cartooning." The bold, red text atop the poster tells of the "HUGE DOUBLEHEADER with TEXAS COW GIRLS." Just below, over the bright yellow background, the ad boasts: "IN PERSON! THE SENSATIONAL WILT (THE STILT) CHAMBERLAIN" (a nickname Chamberlain detested). To the right of the ad's details are Mullin's drawings of four Globetrotters players, all smiling and performing their usual, bizarre basketball antics. The EX-MT broadside has a few subtle surface creases and is otherwise unmarred. Matted and framed.
