The well-known St. Louis based sporting goods manufacturer Rawlings enjoyed an endorsement deal with local favorite Stan Musial through the mid-1950s whereby Rawlings lauded the athlete as the "Player of the Decade," named him as a member of its "advisory staff" and included his likeness on Rawlings products. Offered is the premier Musial advertisement issued by Rawlings. This thick cardboard sign, measuring 16-1/2" x 19-3/4", showcases Stan Musial in a manner befitting his stature with a superb black-and-white photo of Musial surrounded by a colorful gold and simulated wood border. This top-of-the-line ad item was likely subject to very limited distribution when released and is correspondingly rare today. Its display quality is minimally EX with only minor border and surface faults that do little to hamper its superb aesthetic presence. The piece is enhanced by a large black Sharpie Stan Musial signature (10/10) centered just above the design's caption block. Matted and framed to overall dimensions of 23 1/2" x 27". Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
