The Ontario, Canada-based "Reach" company has been a trusted source for baseballs used in the American League from 1903 through 1973 as well as other equipment. Offered here is a circa 1930's die-cut display that colorfully hawks the company's products. This 15-3/4" x 22-3/4" retail display showcases the handsome, smiling image of a ballplayer in full windup—about to unleash a delivery with a Reach baseball. Appearing boldly in red and white letters within a 16"-diameter circular segment atop the display is "Reach BASE BALL Equipment". Along the periphery are printed claims of "MADE IN CANADA," "Star PERFORMANCE" and "COUNT THE STARS WHO USE THEM." The stampings on the OAL (Harridge) baseball pictured in the grasp of the rendered player allows us to date the piece from 1934-1939. It presents at about the EX condition level, with vibrant hues throughout, and minor wear and creases confined to the periphery, not affecting the central graphics.
