The most valuable "common" baseball card on Earth is anointed so for it’s status as the debut card from the hobby’s most esteemed post-war issue, and also the fact that it’s almost never seen in high grade. An extreme condition rarity, the offered piece has a pack-fresh appearance. The card has perfect gloss and smooth sharp edges, with four sharp NM-MT corners. This desirable black-backed Pafko is one of only nine specimens that have attained this card’s condition plateau, with just one graded higher among almost 1,000 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting. Furthermore is one of only five black backed examples graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. In spite of being a five-time All-Star over a productive 17-year career, "Handy Andy" Pafko will be always be “#1” in the hearts and minds of collectors for his honorable position in one of the most definitive card series ever produced.
