Watch Video of Kirk Gibson's amazing Pinch Hit (courtesy of MLB.com)

This stately symbol of the Dodgers 1988 World Series title was presented on the field at Dodger Stadium on opening day of the 1989 season to Kirk Gibson by Dodgers general manager Fred Claire, the man whose vision helped bring Gibby to Los Angeles a year earlier. The heart and soul of that unsung team, Gibson’s individual performance and team leadership were largely responsible for restoring the Dodgers to their former glory. This original figural trophy presented to Gibson stands 12” tall featuring brass pennants with team names around the perimeter. A large brass circle at the center supports a crown finial. Athletics and Dodgers enameled World Series press pin facades adorn the center area. A brass band on the base reads, “Los Angeles Dodgers World Championship Trophy Presented by The Commissioner of Baseball October 20, 1988 Kirk Gibson” in black lettering on the front. The trophy remains very clean with minimal overall wear. Includes a signed LOA from Kirk Gibson.
