Watch Video of Kirk Gibson's amazing Pinch Hit (courtesy of MLB.com)

After Kirk Gibson’s soaring line drive home run into the right-field seats of Dodger Stadium gave the Dodgers a stunning 5-4 victory in Game One of the 1988 World Series, the heavily favored A's never recovered. Gibson returned to the bench for the final four games. As he had done all season, he had set the tone for his teammates by example. He had taught them all they needed to know. The offered uniform was worn by Gibson during Games Three, Four and Five played at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. It is the uniform Gibson wore throughout the celebration that ensued after he witnessed Orel Hershiser vanquish the A’s in Game Five with his second complete game victory of the Series to finalize the Dodgers improbable quest for the World Championship. On the right sleeve of the jersey is the embroidered 1988 World Series patch in addition to all original lettering and numbers. Inside the collar is the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag showing size "46" with an adjacent strip tag embroidered "88 1 W.S.". An adjacent flag tag reads “Set 2 1988” and an additional tag notes “1 inch extra length”. Gibson has inscribed the front in blue sharpie “My 1988 WS Game Worn Jersey Kirk Gibson 23". The matching pants include the Rawlings manufacturer’s tag showing size "36" with an adjacent strip tag embroidered "Gibson 88 1 36-38 26 W.S." The pants are inscribed “My 1988 WS Game Worn Pants Kirk Gibson 23”. Light usage and wash wear are evident on both pieces. Includes a signed LOA from Kirk Gibson and an additional LOA from PSA/DNA (auto.)
